| These pictures are from waaayyyyyyy back in the day, sophomore year. They're like, historical now. so we were down in chitown rockin the skyscrapers. incredible... most photos on my site are just people making complete asses of themselves... could this be a change for the worse? i love the panorama function on my camera. i've started to use it whenever i can Camping, Cubs game. Tell me, really, could there be a better memorial day weekend? These are a couple of pics I made from shots taken at Wrigley field, and in Wisconsin. one rainy saturday afternoon, possessed with the urge to build something, ryan, hans, and myself decided to head over to the hardware store. that was probably our first mistake. standing in the lumber section we tossed around the idea of building a loft in my room. the room could use the extra space, and let's face it... building stuff is just fun. i grab a piece of paper, scribble down the design (the upper far left pic), and we're off. we got some measurements, drove back to the hardware store, and got to work. we picked up a box of screws, 13 2x4's, 4 1x6's, a 4' by 8' piece of plywood, and finally... oh yes, a circular saw. *insert man bark here* all told it was about 100 bucks worth of materials and tools. not even a lowe's poer outage could stop up, and i even had to walk through the whole store with the guy to find the prices of everything we bought since the computers were down. after we paid we loaded everything into han's tiny ass rice burning acura. hey, it got the job done. getting the wood from the car to the room was another bitch and half. try fitting a 10 foot board in an elevator, it's not easy. what followed was about 4 hours of cutting, drilling, screwing (screws), and what can only be described as pure enginerd bliss. I can tell that my TAM classes have warped my mind already, because i was making decisions on what kind of boards to use based on stress equations and moments of inertia. yikes. |
